How to Apply For TCS Recruitment:

To apply for TCS Jobs, you need to follow the procedure and create an account. Generally, the complete hiring process takes about a month after screening the CV by the talent team. Here’s how you can apply for the job:

  • Initially, you need to visit the TCS Careers page.
  • If you are a fresher, you can proceed with “Entry-Level Hiring.” If you are a working professional with experience, you can select the “Experienced” option available on the homepage.
  • Now explore the vacancies and apply for suitable jobs after going through the job description, role, and functions.
  • Now “Register” yourself by providing the personal and professional information, and after creating an account, you can apply for the job and track the status.

TCS Recruitment Process:

The main rounds of the TCS recruitment process are discussed below:

  1. Written Exam
  2. Technical Interview
  3. Managerial Interview
  4. HR Interview

1. TCS Written Exam:

The written exam has four sections that need to be covered in a total time duration of 90 minutes. The four sections include:

  • Quantitative Aptitude Test: In the Quantitative Aptitude test, your numerical and reasoning ability was tested. This section has 20 questions to be attempted in a 40 minutes duration. This section contains more weightage and is a bit tricky to answer. There is also 1/3rd negative marking for every wrong answer. Essential topics include Number system, Equations, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Time Speed Distance, Areas and Mensuration, Averages, Permutations and Combinations, Probability, Plane geometry, Truth, and Lie based puzzles.
  • Programming Language Efficiency Test: This section mainly has general questions from computer science and programming languages. In this section, you need to answer 10 to 12 questions within a 20 minutes duration.
  • Coding Round: This is a descriptive technical coding round in which you will be provided 1 to 2 questions that you need to answer within 20 minutes.
  • Email writing: Be careful while attempting this section, as it is a crucial elimination round. In this section, you will be given certain clues/words. By using them, you have to write an email addressing the scenario within 10 minutes. The critical thing to keep in mind is you have to use all the words given without missing even a single one.

There is some relaxation for candidates. Suppose you have appeared in TCS CodeVita and scored rank under 1000 in CodeVita round 1. In that case, you can directly appear for interviews, or if you have achieved 8.5 or 80%, you can appear for only verbal ability and email writing tests.

  • There are 1/3 or 0.33 negative markings for every wrong answer in the quantitative aptitude and programming test.
  • There is no negative marking in the English and coding section.

2. TCS Technical interview:

Candidates who score good marks in the written round are called for Technical Interview. To clear this round, you must have your basic concepts clear and good knowledge of programming and coding. You can be asked about Data structures and Algorithms, Networking, and other essential concepts, and a programming language of your choice. You might be asked to write codes or solve puzzles in a technical interview.

3. TCS Managerial Round:

It is a more challenging round than the previous one as the questions are technical and general, plus it will be under pressure with a lot of cross-checking. The interviewer doubts your answers and comes up with different statements to check if you can handle stress or not. The primary key to clear this round is to be calm, confident, and clear on your thoughts and lose out on pressure. If you don’t know the answer, you must state that or try to attempt it with whatever you know, but if you don’t know the answers, then don’t give wrong answers.

4. TCS HR Round:

It is the last round of the TCS recruitment process. It is a general round in which HR tests your behavior, working background by asking anything related to your personality, family, education, hobbies, internships, general knowledge, basic HR questions like Why should I hire you?, If any problem in relocation, etc. It would be best if you were confident about everything you speak.

TCS Interview Experience:

Here we are sharing an experience of Nikhil Vemu who cracked the TCS Digital Interview, Let’s see what process he have to go through during the TCS Interview. Firstly, he has to take a test which consists of questions on English, Aptitude, and Coding. The questions are not tough which is of 110 minutes duration. After clearing this round Nikhil got a mail for a technical interview which happened virtually via MS Teams on a fixed schedule.

The interviewer ask questions related to his project, certification, and technical questions on networking devices, OOPS, and what TCP & UDP are. After clearing this round he undergoes another round of interviews i.e. managerial interview in which he was asked about future goals, why we hire you? Teamwork, etc. In the final round, HR generally takes the interview to check his behavior and whereabouts, etc. which was got over in minutes.
