Qualcomm Recruitment Process

The recruitment process (on and off campus) consists of three parts after applying.

  • Written Round
  • Technical Round (off-campus candidates may have more than 1 round of technical interview)
  • HR Round

Written Round

The written round consists of three sections of multiple-choice questions with each section having 20 questions and 30 minutes to solve them. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Sometimes the number of questions and time allotted may vary but the basic division in the questions will be same -

  • Quantitative Aptitude Topics - Time, Speed, and Distance, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Seating Arrangement, etc.
  • Programming Section Topics - syntax, algorithms, OOP concepts, MS-DOS, output questions based on the pseudo-code, C and C++, etc
  • Core from specialization like computer science or electronics.

Technical Round

The technical interview is a personal interview and candidates say that Qualcomm pays for travel and stay expenses. In the technical interview round, one must be clear with the basics depending on the subject. Questions will be asked from previous projects and whatever you mention in your resume. Some theoretical questions may also be asked from topics like operating systems, structure padding, networking, etc. Computer Science students will be asked to do coding. Cover topics like data structures, arrays, string, etc. There might also be an analytical or puzzle question to test your logical reasoning ability.

HR interview

The purpose of this round is to evaluate the emotional quotient and personality. Questions will mostly be centered around the candidate profile and his/her interests, likes and dislikes. General questions like “why should we hire you” will be asked. In certain cases, they can also ask the candidate a few technical questions if he/she has had only one round of technical interview. The candidates’ package and pay are discussed in this round. Most students who make it to the HR round are likely to get a job offer.
